E3: XBOX ONE

It almost seems silly to realise that I haven't yet posted about E3 on my blog yet, but there's no need to fear because that is why I am here right now!

As most gamers know, E3 is the biggest press conference of the years for Xbox and PS4, it's basically Christmas for nerds.

There is so much that I can say about the 2015 E3 press conference, especially where Bethesda is concerned.

Fallout 4

This game is one we have been anticipating for SO LONG and thank god it's finally landing this November. Fallout 4 looked absolutely fantastic, starting out with a character creation menu that had various similarities to Sims and actually looked like THE best character creation menu that we have EVER seen from Bethesda. The games graphics were just phenomenal, I guess we'd expect that though, right? Now Fallout 3 was and absolutely brilliant game, except from the green wash over everything and I am pleased to tell you that Fallout 4 will NOT have that green wash. We get a customisable feature that allows us to build our own houses and colonies or something which is pretty exciting, I don't really know too much about this, but I'm sure with time I soon will. We also have the companion of a dog, I'm not sure if we can have more than one companion or different companions, but again, in time we will find out. Also, if you're to order the collectors addition of the game you receive a pip boy, A PIP BOY, this is something every Fallout player has dreamed of.

One of the best things about the Fallout 4 announcement was finding out that XBOX ONE users will now be able to transfer mods from the pc to their XBOX and that's just fantastic, I'm not quite sure how it's going to work or how the XBOX is going to handle this but it's still exciting.

Backwards Compatible

I was absolutely bouncing off the walls the moment that this was announced, although it really should have been expected. My 360 now makes some awful noises when it's turned on and knowing that we will be able to play the old 360 games that we know and love on the ONE is fantastic. Coming soon will be 100 XBOX 360 games with the backwards compatible feature!

Gears of War

The creators of Gears announced remastered versions of Gears 1 for the XBOX ONE, as well as showing us a little bit of Gears 4 which you could say looked pretty much like most other Gears of War games before it, but that's okay because Gears is amazing. I can't wait to learn more about this game though, I don't feel that I know all that much at the moment.

Halo 5 Guardians

All we saw for this game was basically just a trailer, I have been anticipating this game for so very long, especially being such a Halo fan, but again, I don't really know that much about it

There were a lot of different announcements at the 2015 E3 press conference, more stuff that I have the time to talk about.

XBOX ONE IS ABOUT TO GET A LITTLE BIT MORE INTERESTING!

COUNTDOWN - TOP TEN GAMES FOR THE XBOX 360 - EIGHT: MODERN WARFARE 2

Revenge is like a ghost…it takes over every man it touches…it's thirst cannot be quenched…until the last man standing has fallen...

Eight: Modern Warfare 2

As an avid Call of Duty fan, there was naturally going to be at least one Call of Duty gams in my top ten games for the Xbox 360, and in my opinion, Modern Warfare 2 is most certainly one of the best, if not the best.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a first-person shooter that is considered to be a political war thriller, released to Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Microsoft Windows.

Most aspects of this game were completely on point, you can play Call of Duty: Black Ops and find yourself hammering bullets into someone and then dying yourself…where's the logic? The hit detection on MW2 is incredible, all of the maps were well designed and you would remember them. This game appealed to everyone, skilled gamers and new, with the ability for skilled gamers to pubstomp quite easily, the new players to gain their skills, and it's best we don't even go into those people using noob-tubes.

When this game was first released back in 2009, one of the most constant and annoying problems was hacking/modding, sometimes this would happen a lot, sometimes not so much. I mean it's pretty simple to just leave a game, but I mean, that can just be pretty irritating…I doubt this is a problem now, in fact, this probably now hasn't been a problem for a long time.

I've always had this little joke about Call of Duty, it's been along the lines of the fact that nobody buys COD for the campaigns, just the online, but most people do actually play the campaign at some point, although most then regret it, they still play it. When it comes to MW2, the campaign was by far one of my favourite COD campaigns, I am not afraid to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I can honestly say that one of the main reasons I ever stopped playing this game wasn't due to the fact that it wasn't that good, it was actually due to the fact that time moved on, new Call of Duty games came out, and with that, everyone went to play those.

Modern Warfare 2 has been ranked 8th on my all time favourite Xbox 360 games, with very good reasoning.

Check back here next week to find out what's been ranked 7th on my all time favourite xbox 360 games, you might be surprised!

Until next time…

COUNTDOWN - TOP TEN GAMES FOR THE XBOX 360 - NINE: PORTAL 2

Think with portals

Nine: Portal 2

When I was waiting for the release of the first-person puzzle-platform video game that is Portal 2 back in 2011, I always thought that the game was going to be pretty good, especially after the first instalment of the game, but I don't think I expected it to be as good as it actually was, I most certainly underestimated what this game was capable of.

I was first introduced to Portal back in around 2009 when I stumbled upon a game called The Orange Box, which I must say in itself is a mighty fine game. Now The Orange box is video game compilation containing games such at Hard Life and Portal, and I'm pretty sure that nobody thought that the little game we all played on The Orange Box was going to end up quite the success that it has.

So, if you didn't already guess, Portal 2 is the sequel to that game Portal we played in The Orange Box. One thing that makes Portal so different and probably so successful is the fact that it is actually a puzzle game that is a first-person shooter. The great thing about it are the "portal guns" that the characters use. If you fire your gun through a space then you will create one side of the portal, then you can shoot the gun again in a different location, preferably the location of which you would like to move to and this will then open up a portal, you then simply walk through this and you are where you want/need to be, it's as easy as that. The trick is trying to fire your portals in the right place to make sure you get where you want/need to be, sometimes there are various obstacles or fans etc that will make this harder, creating the puzzle side of the game.

Like I've said previously, Portal 2 is the sequel to Portal, the game that was first released on the video game compilation that is The Orange Box. The storyline to Portal 2 actually continues from that of Portal, which is what we expected and I'm pretty sure a lot of fans would have been quite disappointed if this wasn't the case.

This game is definitely one of my favourite Xbox 360 games, probably due to the fact that it's so different to most other games, there's just something about it that makes it quite remarkable. Portal 2 is a really fun and intelligent game.

Portal 2 is most certainly a great game, especially if you have a great sense of humour. I suggest that if you enjoy the occasional game, then you go ahead and check out Portal, I guarantee you won't be disappointed, and on the plus side, you can pick it up quite cheap now. This game is definitely one of my favourite xbox 360 games, not only is it fun and intelligent, but it's also quite different to most other first person shooters there's just something about it that makes it quite remarkable.

Porrtal 2 has been ranked 9th on my all time favourite Xbox 360 games, with very good reasoning.

Check back here next Wednesday to find out what's been ranked 8th on my all time favourite xbox 360 games, you might be surprised!

Until next time…

Countdown - Top Ten Games For the xbox 360 - Ten: GTA V

Welcome to paradise.

10. Grand Theft Auto V

As a whole, GTA has always been a game worth playing and for anyone who has enjoyed all or any of the previous Grand Theft Auto games; GTA V is most certainly a game that I would recommend for you. Every single aspect of this game screams awesomeness, it most certainly shows that video game makers are incredibly capable of creating something that is extraordinary. From flying over Los Santos, to having an intense Tennis Match, from having an all out riot to cruising around the city, this game really couldn't offer much more than it already does.

GTA V delves deeper than many games before it, creating the ultimate gaming experience. Upon creating this game, Rockstar really made sure that they went out of their way to create something that would appeal to the gaming community. They ensured that even the smallest of details were included, take for instance the fact that when a character is wearing flip-flops, they will actually flop when walking, if you kick a car, you can actually cause damage to the car, your phone will lose GPS signal upon entering a tunnel, such fine detail has really helped to create an incredibly realistic game.

Undeniably, the world of GTA V is essentially a masterpiece; it lures you in, and with good reason. The second you are lured into the world of GTA V, that's the second you become hooked.

The offline mode is full of a wide variety of missions that could keep you busy for hours, days, weeks and months, you're not going to get bored of it too easily, there's just too much to do. There's no reason to stop once you've finished the story mode, there's far too much to explore, the visuals are just undeniably incredible.

Then you also have the online version of the game, allowing you to roam the streets of Los Santos with other players. First off you have the ability to create your own character, then you can enter missions, including raids, races and more to gain money to buy houses, cars and much more. The online mode also gives you the ability to explore the city as much as you want, but watch out for other online players, some will set out to kill for no reason.

After releasing this game, there was essentially only one thing they could do to improve it, this would be to release it onto next generation consoles, which is something they chose to do during November of 2014, which only adds to this gaming experience.

Grand Theft Auto V has been ranked 10th on my all time favourite Xbox 360 games, with very good reasoning.

Check back here next Wednesday to find out what's ranked 9th on my all time favourite xbox 360 games, you might be surprised!

Until next time…

Reasons I am 20 and single

People fall in and out of love all the time and it's a huge part of life.

Recently I have come to realise that there is no rush in finding the truest form of love. For we are still young and that should be enjoyed. These are the days we will never get back, this is our youth and we should live it for us. These are the years that we should be spending building a life for ourselves, a career, travelling and being happy. The time will come when love get's it's turn in life, that's the moment you start a family, expanding the life that you have created for yourself.

Never rush your life, enjoy being young whilst you are still young.

I'm currently 20 and single and do you know what? I'm loving it! Life's easier when you are living your life for you rather than for someone else. Your 20's are your selfish years and I aim to take advantage of that, I'm going to live my life how I want to, just for me. I'm going to finish uni, build a career and travel as much as possible.

Here's a list of the reasons I am currently single…enjoy?

Staying in > going out.

I have noticed a lot of people, some who I have been close to in the past, really don't understand my need and want to stay in rather than go out. Clubs are most certainly not my scene, I can't think of anything more that I would hate doing. I'd much rather spend my Friday evening with my xbox completing a Halo campaign or ranking up as much as humanly possible on Call of Duty (Maybe it's not a humane amount…maybe it's a little excessive) or even sat watching episode after episode of any television show on Netflix (Because I will watch them all, I don't care what they are about)

I want to travel.

Is it just me or does it become harder to travel the second you commit to a relationship? You might not agree with this, but your idea of traveling compared to mine might be a completely different thing. I want to be able to pack my bags and spend days, weeks, months or even years in a country just because I can and I don't want anything holding me back from this. People expect you to stick around for them but the second you start doing this you begin missing out on opportunities that could have changed your life. I want to see as much of the world as I possible can and preferably whilst I am young, I want to visit country after country, see things I've only ever dreamed about and it's the most exciting part of life to me.

Commitment

How can you commit to something at such a young age? How do you know where you're going to be in 5 years time, or what you're going to be doing. A relationship means tying yourself down, as much as most people won't want to agree with this, it's completely true! The moment you get into a relationship, every little thing in your life changes, maybe it's for the better, but from my past relationships I know that I have missed out on so many opportunities and I will never forgive myself for this…plus, I can't even commit to watching a film on Netflix, I often get bored, committing to a person is a much bigger thing, but you get the idea.

Sleep makes me happy

I like to sleep, I really do and other people wouldn't understand. The moment you say "I woke up at 2 today" you are going to get some funny looks. It doesn't make me lazy! You don't know how long i stayed up the previous night!

My Best friend > You

My best friend is my soul mate and that's pretty much it. The hardest person for anyone to compete with is her. I basically have a life partner in her…minus the, well, let's not go into that actually. Everything I could ever want to do in life I could do with her, without the whole "commitment" thing. I want to get a house with her? That's fine, we're besties, we're never falling out! I want to travel? I wouldn't want to travel with anyone but her, mainly because we are hilarious and it would be the most amazing experience ever. The only person in this entire world who isn't going to judge you for who you are is your best friend  they don't care if you've been sat in the same spot for 2 weeks straight watching continues episodes of Supernatural in your pyjamas with no make up on, in fact, they will probably applaud you for the fact that you've managed to watch 5 seasons of Supernatural in 2 weeks, that's a huge achievement.

I hate people

How can you be in a relationship with another human being when you generally dislike most of the human population? It's just not really going to work is it? People do irritate me though, the stupidity and eagerness to irritate one another…no thank you! I'll be fine with 28 cats thank you!

Fictional characters and celebrities

I'm in a one way relationship with WAY too many people (Jensen Ackles, Zac Efron, Louis Tomlinson, Danny Jones, Luke Hemmings, James McVey, Justin Long, Shaun Sipos etc) and quite frankly, I just don't think that there is any room in my life for another guy.

I'm waiting for a mad man in a box.

The Doctor will come, contrary to popular belief he will and we will travel time and space together, lot's of wibbly wobbly timey wimey fun will be had…

I have an unhealthy relationship with my xbox

My xbox is my entire world, if I could spend my entire life playing xbox I would…I should have became a games tester! Seriously though, I can't get enough, games are my life, it's the thing I do as soon as I walk in from a long day of university…although it stresses me out more than university. Everyone who plays COD probably needs anger management, I am included in this. OH! Guess what you can get on xbox? NETFLIX! My relationship with Netflix is just too much. I recently started watching Orange Is The New Black, it took me around 3 days to finish watching 2 seasons of this show…I can't explain this okay!

I don't have the time!

I'm a University student, actually, I'm a final year University student! This takes up A LOT of time, especially with being in my final year, I am forever writing scrips, completing paper work, completing coursework, doing assessments and it really is very time consuming. As well as this I have to split my time evenly between my two best friends…my actual best friend (Purple Tits) and my xbox and it's extremely hard to distribute the time evenly between the two. I also have a family! I already have no time left and I have to find some hours in my week to see them! Can you see my problem now?

My Degree

This is the most important thing to me in my life right now and nothing can come in the way of it. I have messed up so many times in my life and this is the time I need to get it right! My degree determines my career and I won't be happy with anything lower than a high 2.1/1st, I haven't got myself into around £50,000 worth of debt just to get a degree classification that I am not happy with!

10 other reasons:

1. My life is too busy as it is for a relationship.
2. I hate having to tell someone everything about my life…what I've done all day, where I've been etc.
3. I can't base my life around another human being…
4. I can't cook and I hate cleaning…do it yourself please!
5. I want at least 18 cats.
6. I hate meeting new people.
7. The Internet...
8. If you're in a relationship, you're expected to share your pizza…I don't want to share my pizza.
9. Nothing beats a food night and movie/television show marathon…NOTHING!
10. I'm awkward.

This is just the reasons why I am single, I'm happy for all those who are in a relationship and are happy, good for you! Everyone is different and that's just not what I want right now.

Live your life for you, be happy, that's all that matters!

Until next time!
