The Fear of death

Ever since I was a little girl, my biggest fear was the idea of death, the night terrors that I used to have and still do have to this day, make these fears so much more intense. I can't even remember the amount of nights that I have woken up crying, or the nights that I was unable to sleep due to thinking and so desperately fearing death and all of the unanswered questions. Nothing in this world could ever comfort these thoughts, these are the thoughts that will stay with us for the entirety of our lives, mainly because the questions can never be answered.

I'm now 21 and I find myself to be just as scared not as I was when I was a little girl. How can you expect these fears to go away when we can't ever possibly answer the questions? It's hard not to think about something that you fear, especially when trying to sleep, when your brain goes into overdrive.

Last night I found myself lay in bed struggling to sleep, with various thoughts coming into my brain, the subject of death screaming to be listened to. I can't help but fear what the world will become once I am done, I fear the idea of being gone, the ides of never being again, no one remembering that I ever was. I can't help but imaging what will happen after that, imagining the nothingness that I will feel…or won't feel. I can't help but hope that there is more to life than this inevitable, I hope that once we die, something else happens. I despise the idea of dying and never existing again, just disappearing into the dark abyss.

I fear oblivion, I fear it like the proverbial blind man fears the dark.

Death has always been a hard subject for me to process, it's hard to understand that this specific part of your future is inevitable, it's always going to happen and there's nothing that can stop this. There is no comfort in the idea of knowing that this happens to everyone, that there is no escaping it, in fact, this just helps to make these feelings so much worse, if I said that it makes my life feel claustrophobic would that sound stupid? This is because it's always around, it's never, ever going away. Thinking about this too much makes me feel physically sick, it sends my brain into overdrive, causes me to think about all of the unanswered questions that are often related with this subject…What happens when I die? What if I have nothing to leave behind? What happens to my loved ones?

If there is one thing in this world that we cannot avoid, it's fears and phobias, whether you like to admit it or not you are probably feared of something and it just so happens that one of the biggest world wide is the fear of death. Death means the end to everything for one individual, the end of everything that they knew, the end of everything that they used to be and everything that they could have ever been.

I've found that there's nothing that can stop my mind getting side-tracked  nothing that can stop me thinking and worrying about this. It's inevitable that once you leave this world, you will eventually be forgotten  everything that you have ever created will disappear with you, is that something we should fear? One of the worst things is not knowing when your time is going to come, not knowing how long you have to live your life. There are so many things that I want to do before it's my time to go, so many places that I want to visit, so many things that I want to experience. The idea of leaving behind something meaningful is wonderful, something that you can live through, some kind of legacy, to me that will be the family that I hope to one day create, my future children.

Just as much as I fear leaving this world, I fear losing my loved ones. At 21, I have lost my more people in my life than I care to think about. The hardest thing that I have ever experienced was losing my beloved Granddad, knowing that I was never going to see his face again, I fear losing anyone else, I fear the breakdown that will come with that, I fear it more than anything. I'm just as scared of losing my loved ones as they are of losing me.

Spending time thinking and writing about this subject just makes me realise how precious life is, how much we often take it for granted, even though we shouldn't. We should not spend our time dwelling on the idea of dying, or the idea of losing those around us. We need to make every second of our lives count because we never know which moment is going to be our last. We should do what we enjoy in this life, achieve greatness, bring a family into the world and most importantly be happy. We should never let the idea of death take over our lives because it;s time will come. We should enjoy life as it is for what it is and remember that nothing in this life is worth is if you're not happy.

Until next time xoxo

Happiness is the most important thing in life, it only seems right that we should have a day dedicated to it. Nothing in life is ever worth it if you're not happy, you should always make the changes necessary to ensure your happiness.

The End Is Nigh

Yesterday I received my invitation to my graduation…

On the 14th July 2015 I will be walking through the doors at The Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool with the biggest grin on my face you will ever see. This is the day I have been anticipating for my entire life, the day I get up in front of many people, some faces familiar, some not, and receive my degree.

It's not news to you that I have hated every single second of my degree, but that doesn't stop me being unbelievably excited to graduate with my BSC in Broadcast and Media Production, it doesn't stop me feeling like I have achieved something, something that will make my loved ones proud.

Ever since the first moment I walked through the doors at the LJMU Byrom Street Campus, the one thing I wasn't looking forward to was graduation. This was mainly due to the fact that before this comes all of the hard work that gets you the degree, the constant battling with assignments and stress induced rage, not to mention the hell that is your final year project and dissertation...

I think this is the first moment I have been able to look past this, I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, it's the final hurdle and I am so ready. I'm so excited to see what my life has to offer, I'm so happy to finally be able to get myself into a situation where I am happy and not constantly stressing over the mountain of assignments surrounding me.

It's time for me to get stuck in, it's time for me to make my future happen, to make sure I have a life that I can be truly happy with, the days are coming that I won't forget and I am so ready.

Roll on July 14th 2015! I AM READY!

Watch out world, I'm coming for you!

Until next time

Happy February!

When we first started 2015 I had planned on posting a lot more onto my blog, although you'll have to forgive me for the lack of posts during January, it was an extremely busy month.

I was aiming to post this on the 1st of February, unfortunately I managed to get a little sidetracked and quite clearly that didn't happen!

Last time I was here I spoke about getting a house with my best friend, it was quite an exciting time for us and guess what? It's finally happened! We have been living here for nearly a week and it's absolutely amazing. Everything about this is so surreal, we wake up some mornings and ask each other if this is real, because it's just too perfect to be real. Our little house is so much more perfect that I could have ever possibly dreamed it would be, it's our own little escape from the world, our own little den and I wouldn't want to share this experience with anyone else!

I think the craziest thing is that we have an entire house to ourselves, with no parents or siblings and it's completely crazy. We came up with this one rule, this rule being that as soon as you get to the top of the stairs you have to crawl or shuffle on your bum, there's no walking upstairs and you have to slide down the stairs ob your bum, it's great, right?

January, for us, was essentially the month of parties. For the entirety of 2014 we stayed sober, it was a great thing to do, but 2015 is much different. We're only a month into the year, but we've already created some wonderful memories.

Things change, but some feelings stay the same.

In January I celebrated my 21st Birthday. It was the moment I really stopped for a moment and had a look a round, the moment I really truly noticed how much had changed since the last time I took a good look at the world. In all honesty, this is the best moment (minus all of the uni stress, but I don't want to go into that right now) I'm now 21, living with my most favourite person in the world and I really feel like things are looking up!

Things are looking up, looking up (hey!)
There's magic everywhere you go
Strangers stop to say hello (hello, hello, hello)
So turn it up, turn it up (hey!)
As lout as you can make it go
'Cause love is on the radio.

I believe that pictures speak louder than words, so here's my month in pictures!

Until next time!

New Year: Chapter Two: New Home Inspiration

The past few years haven't been the most joyful of my life so far and ever since drawing a close to 2014 I made a decision to make 2015 my best year so far, no matter what. Since October, my best friend and I, came to the conclusion that we wanted to move into our own little home together, we made so many plans but didn't seem to be getting anywhere. This was until Friday, we found a house on right move, viewed it and decided we wanted it all in the same day.

I'm currently drowning in university assignments and boxes preparing to move home.

First of all, here's a few images of our new house. I think it's absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to make it our own…

Since deciding that we wanted this house to become our home, I haven't been able to stop hammering Pinterest for home inspiration…

I'll be sure to make a new post once we've moved in, showing you our house once we have fully finished it.

Make 2015 a year to remember

Until next time!

Day Nineteen: Be Happy...

Sept 19th: If you could give one piece of advice to a large group of people, what would it be?

Honestly, the only advice I would give to just about anyone and everyone is to be happy.

Happiness is the most important thing whether you know it or not, everything you do in your life should be to make you happy and, if it doesn't, then you shouldn't be doing it.

“Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.”
- Anne Frank

I think to be happy is to be the best you can be, if you're happy, you're going to spread your happiness around, thus making others happy also. We weren't put onto this earth to be miserable, we should make changes where we need to and do the things we enjoy.

Never take your life for granted, live every moment like it's your last, don't spend a moment being unhappy, live your life with a smile on your face.

Until tomorrow

Day Five: The biggest love of my life

Sept 5th: "I am passionate about ______________. "

My truest passion in the entire world is capturing moments and documenting life. I as an individual consider myself to be nothing without a camera in my hands.

"To be successful, the first thing to do is fall in love with your work." Sister Mary Lauretta

For my entire life I have spent so long trying to find something that I am truly passionate about. Something that truly sparks the creativity inside of me and makes me want to achieve great things. I felt this passion the first time I held a video camera in my hands. Ever since that very first moment I haven't been able to live my life without the ability to create art in the form of the moving image.

Just under a year ago I purchased one of my most prized possessions, my DSLR. Purchasing this (mainly for videography purposes) sparked a new passion inside of me, that passion being photography. Ever since that moment, I have grown so much as a photographer.

I used to look around me at people enjoying life because they had found their truest passion, and to say I was jealous of this would be an understatement. Now I look around me and see the world in a different way, I see all of the beauty and opportunities that the world has to offer, and I'd hate to see it any other way.

What am I passionate about?

- Freezing time in the form of photography.
- Documenting life.
- Bringing my imagination to life in form of videography.
- Learning about new cultures.
- Traveling the world.
- Watching as many films as humanly possible.
- Living life to it's fullest
- Being happy.

Everyone is passionate about something, no matter who you are…what's your passion?

Day Two: Everyone deserves happiness

So I've been sitting here for a couple of hours with this blank screen staring back at me, struggling to think about what to blog about. That's the moment I began to search and I came across the #blogtemberchallenge so seeing as it is now the 2nd September I'm actually just going to skip day one and go straight onto day two which is all about being happy.

Sept 2nd: Write about what makes you happy, from the little joys to the huge game-changers.

What makes me happy…?
Blogging. Strawberry Milkshake. Mcfly. Red Lipstick.
Doctor Who. Sleeping in late.
Catchups with friends. Disney Films. Autumn.
Love. Photography. Burning Candles. Food. Musicals.
Dinner dates. Bubble Baths. Shopping. Gaming.
Tea. Xbox days. Being productive. Traveling. An ice cold glass of water.
Singing. Reading. Spending time with the family. Supernatural Marathons
Taylor Swift. Getting tattooed. Amazing gigs. Comic-con.

Happiness is something everybody searches for in their lives, no matter who they are, it's something everybody wants.

Sometimes the smallest things can make me happy, a song starting to play can brighten up my entire day.

Sometimes, when you're feeling really down, something can make you smile but doesn't necessarily make you happy, I guess a smile is halfway there but halfway really just isn't enough.

Family is a key part to what makes me happy, what kind of family would you have if they didn't make you happy? Not living at home means I don't get to see my mother and siblings as much as I would like to, but it kinds of makes it that bit more special when I do see them, I feel an intense amount of happiness when I do see them and nothing could break that. My family are my entire world, I'd not be who I am today and I would never trade them for the world. Everything I do in life is for my family, for my mother, to make her proud of me. I want my mum to look at me and feel overwhelming happiness because of how proud I have made her. I just love my family, if i had nothing else in the world, but still had my family, I would still be happy

Naturally, my boyfriend makes me happy too, which is good. Again, just seeing him can brighten up my entire day, but to be honest, he's family as well so of course he makes me happy.

Another person who can brighten up my day in a heartbeat is my bestest and dearest friend, but again, I class her as family aswell.

Family is the most important thing and family isn't just about who you're related too, it's who's there for you.

Thinking of the word "family" makes you really think. Blood makes you related, but loyalty makes you family

Happiness is something everybody deserves to feel, find what makes you happy and take advantage. If we don't have happiness, we don't have anything worth fighting for.

Take part in the #blogtemberchallenge

The Best Intentions

In a world that's not often the nicest to live in, one thing that we should always try and do in life is be the best we can be. That includes being the nicest person we could ever possibly be and always having the best intentions at heart. We should always try and spread a little bit of happiness around wherever we go because you never know who needs it.

I have always done everything in my power to be a good person, to always do the right thing and I have always made sure that everything I do it with the best intentions.

Sometimes I look around me and notice all of the cruelty and hate in the world and I wonder why I try to be a good person. So many people don't care about others. When you bump into someone in the street, do you apologise? Or do you snarl and walk away? Apologising is the decent thing to do, it's just common courtesy really. I realise that I am who I am and live how I do because being a good person costs nothing and it can really put your life into perspective.

Everyone in their life has probably hurt someone, some purposely and some believing they were doing the right thing. Purposeful hurt is a lot more painful than accidental. I'm so scared of hurting peoples feelings or doing wrong in life that I tip toe around everything, unfortunately, sometimes it cannot be helped.

People are sensitive, and you might not think it, but your actions can hurt someone a lot. Words can hurt, people take things to heart and that means you can hurt someone without realising.

I will continue to live my life being a good person, apologising when I do wrong.

Spreading happiness and living life with the best intentions could make you happier than anything else.

Life is better when you're laughing
